SART is so very busy these days and so desperately need loving people who are not afraid to do some cleaning, laundry, dishes, general clean up, petting and brushing and loving, and doing whatever comes our way. So, if you have an hour or two free, any day of the week, let us know – we would love to have your help – no matter the weather, the temperature, the day of the week or how everyone feels – many kitties depend on us for their care and we need to be there fore them.
Open your hearts and help a little – you will leave with a smile on your face!

We are well into summer and SART has been very busy. We have 38 little ones in our care as well as some adult rescues over the past couple of months. SART changed the policy on adoption last fall so that we do not adopt kittens until they are fixed. This leaves more on our shoulders but ensures that every cat that leaves here is fixed and healthy. As a result, we need more funds to start fixing our little ones. If you would like to help get these little ones ready for adoption, please go to the donate page and click on the PayPal link and donate…..we would appreciate your support! Also, if you are looking for a new kitty for your home, consider SART!

This is the time of year where people forget about their non profit organizations and the needs that might be there. Is it the warm weather, everyone’s busy spring schedules with yard work, ball games and such? I am not sure, but it happens every year. The sad thing is that this is our most difficult time of the year with new babies coming in, the rooms getting full, the weather getting warm, and we, too, having spring schedules. The easiest and quickest way you can lend us a hand is to remember to donate! Money is needed to continue to TNR, to buy special food for the babies, and all the necessities to keep our SART residents happy, healthy and comfortable. So, please, go to paypal, donate a bit, and help us in our fight to get the unhomed off of the streets. Your heart will be pleased!

Mario and Luigi were adopted from SART 4 years ago to a lovely young family. They have been dearly loved and are very friendly, healthy, happy cats. The family had a child after the adoption and that child is allergic to the cats. Mario and Luigi need a new home….they are brothers, love each other, and are very quiet, well behaved kitties. If anyone would be willing to welcome them into their home, please let me know. Bringing them to the shelter after 4 years would be very stressful for them, and they would not be able to stay together….moving from one home to another would be much better for the two….could that home be yours? If you are willing to try, please let me know….they need a new home as quickly as possible!

Buddy spent 10 years with his best friend, an older man who took him walks on a leash, sat with him and included him in his day to day life. Buddy’s friend passed away last fall, and he is grieving horribly over his loss. The widow cannot console Buddy….she has tried for months to help him get through this sadness, and nothing has worked. He misses his friend.
The widow, who is 87, cannot do much more for him but wants to find a wonderful home for him in honor of her husband, as well as for the safe keeping of Buddy, who is a very healthy, black and white male who has all his shots and is neutered and very healthy. If you know of an older gentleman who needs a companion, would enjoy walking Buddy on his leash, spend time with him, and help bond Buddy to him, please email Sue at sue@sartohio.org. This is a serious situation, as Buddy needs to heal, the widow needs an answer, and we are here to help. Home to home placement would be much better for Buddy rather than having him come to the shelter. Please open your hearts and help!
