SART has been very busy the past few months placing kitties into safe environments.  We are not able to bring new ones into the shelter at this time but have been successful in helping kitties in situations find new homes without having to come to the shelter.  This outreach has helped us be able to help more than before because we can help a kitty in need while it is being watched over by the contact person until we have found a suitable place for it.  Our shelter is full, but it does not discourage us from helping…..one at a time.  The kitties that need a home are a momma and her son.  Both have been fixed and innoculated, and are being fostered by the woman who found them this winter.  SART was able to get them medical care and they are becoming very appreciative of all that is done.  The two would love to have a home together – after having lived on the streeets protecting each other, they have become quite close.  They would be suitable in a home or even in a country setting as a garage/outside pair as long as they had heat when needed, blankets and comfort in the garage.  They are very sweet, healthy and happy and would love to be in a wonderful home!  Could it be yours?

Last summer a small, young female cat appeared at SART – had been dumped on the road in the heat of July to try to survive, being very pregnant and afraid.  We got her comfortable for the night and was taking her to Doc’s office to be checked out the next day.  She went to Doc’s and was to spend the night for observation and the next morning four little black and white babes were in the cage with her.  Finally having a comfortable, cool place to rest and told her body it was time for birthing!  She came back to SART with her boys and spent many weeks taking care of her little ones.  Then, when it was time, momma, named Rhoda, went to be spayed, and the boys went into the nursery. Rhoda lives happily in a comfortable room at SART.

Fast forward – now we have the cutest group of 4 brothers that you would ever see.  There is a lover, a helper, and two players.  They are very close, and even though they play and visit with others, you will see them gather together for nap time, or even for attention with one of us.  They are almost identical – mostly black, with little bits of white that set them a bit apart of each other.  We think they would be such a fun group to have in a home where there were no other pets, so that all attention could be given to these four boys.  They are fixed, inoculated, wormed, litter trained, very loving and social.  They want human attention all the time – they would be such a great edition to your home.  Four boys – how much fun would that be?  Open your hearts!FourThreeTwoOne

StubbyThis beautiful boy needs a good home, as do the 360 plus kitties of SART.  However, the kitties at SART are well cared for and safe until their special home comes.  Stubby will have no one.  A very kind family has watched over him for quite a while, but are moving out of state in a few weeks and won’t be able to take an outside cat along.  Stubby is a garage/cat door to the outside kitty that would work best where he has room to enjoy outside away from the dangers of cars and other dangerous situations of town.  He is well mannered and loving – maybe over time working with him he will become comfortable inside a home, enjoying the family and all that it has to offer.

If you would be interested in taking Stubby into your home on his terms, slowly through garage/outside and then possibly on into the home, please let me know.  He deserves to be cared for, just as all the kitties at SART do.

The two babes that we were asking for a good home that are pictured on our website and facebook found that much needed home with a lovely couple from the Sidney area that love them as children.  Then sent the attached picture and said that the two are exactly what they were looking for.  They will have a wonderful forever home filled with love and play, cuddles and snuggles.  Thank you for taking them into your lives to love and care for!

BlackOrangeTigerThe three cats pictured above belong  to an elderly couple who love and care for them very well.  This couple has had to go to nursing facilities, not doing very well, and the family needs to find new homes for the cats before the end of the year.  The cats do not need to go together – three homes, two homes or one would do!  We do not have a safe place for them at SART right now because we are so full, and so we are trying to help find them a new home from the home they are in – this is so much better and less stressful for a cat from a home, rather than having to come to SART with the crowd and try to adjust.  This is the season of giving and receiving, and we so need to find good homes for them.  If you can open your home to one of these animals, or know of someone that would, please let me know so that we can make arrangements.  They are all well mannered, litter trained, friendly and healthy.  We are going to be sure their inoculations are updated and that all is good before they travel to their new home.  Opening your home to a mid-aged cat is such a kind gesture – SART has over 200 of this age group and they are always so happy  They are great to adopt because they appreciate anything you do for them.  Unfortunately, not many people open their homes to this age group….but what a gift – please open your homes to these three so that they have a safe place!
