Home 4 the Holidays 2014

The 2014 Blue Buffalo Home 4 the Holidays drive is in full swing and runs through January 2, 2015. SART is again participating in this fantastic program, and we are determined to find wonderful, caring homes for our cats and kittens. If you’re thinking about bringing a loving cat into your life, please consider adopting one of our beautiful, healthy, loving residents. Our cats dream of having a family of their own with warm blankets, good food, and much love. Home 4 the Holidays has placed over 9 million animals into loving homes since 1999. Let’s help make this campaign a success once again this year! Open your hearts and your home!

If it’s not the right time for you to adopt, you can still contribute to the mission of the Home 4 the Holidays campaign by donating to SART through the H4TH website by clicking here.

Thank you so much for your support! The winter months are the most challenging to battle at the shelter. As the temperature drops, we appreciate any help you can provide. We’ll always accept non-monetary donations as well – from food and litter to blankets, toys and cleaning supplies. Anything means everything.

Found Siamese

SART is very busy in our trap, neuter and release (TNR) program in St. Marys, OH. This week, while trapping, we caught this beautiful neutered male Siamese in the West Spring Street area of town. He is a sweet boy and we wonder if he belongs to someone and got out of his home. Please share this as much as possible so we can try to see if we can find his owner. He wants to go home! Please contact SART on our Facebook page or directly through our website.

Summertime. It is the time for vacations, family, get togethers and fun in the sun. It is also the time when shelters are busier than ever and need funds to get through caring for the kitties who need medical care and comfort. Traditionally, summertime is a time when those who are generous in donating to worthy causes use their extra funds for summer activities. This also holds true for church offerings, donating blood, and any other extra activity. But we are still here every day, feeding, cleaning, medicating and loving our wonderful animals. Unfortunately, this all takes money to be able to do well. Please do not forget about us. Just think. If everyone who read this would make a donation, share with their friends, who all make a donation, who then share with their friends…..and on and on it goes. We would be able to do all we need to do to pay our medical bills, provide meds to those who need it, and have the extra supplies on hand that help us function. Remember, at SART, all donations go to the cats. We are all volunteers at SART and no salaries are paid. Your donation will go directly to the care of the animals who depend on us every day. Please help!Jasper - he is a very sweet boy!

Meet Simon and Lucky. Two beautiful four year old brothers. They are such lovers. They lay together wrapped up in each other’s arms. Their life has been filled with love and care, but sadly they need to find a loving home together. Their owner has a two year old son and is now going through a difficult pregnancy which will soon require complete bed rest. She knows they are not going to be getting the attention they so deserve and so wants to find them a new home together with someone who will love and care for them. She thinks they would be most happy with a single person who can give them good attention, brushing, playing and loving them. Simon has the personality of being more like a dog. He follows you around, comes when called, and is the watchful protector, even of his brother, Lucky. Lucky is a bit shy, but very interactive and loving as well. He is more concerned with changes in routine and definitely should be rehomed with Simon. If you have been thinking of bringing in a kitty, these two would make wonderful house pets. They so need to get to a new home as soon as possible before her medical situation becomes more difficult for her to properly care for them. If you would like more information, please email me through the contact page. Adopting these two would be a good thing, for all concerned!

As most of you know, SART has been doing TNR in our community.  As a result of this, we sometimes come across a very adoptable, misplaced kitty on the streets.  I have been feeding our TNR cats downtown and have befriended two cats who definitely need a safer place to live.  They were most likely dumped, and are somewhat friendly, one much more than the other.  We believe them to be brothers, one loves people, the other is more apprehensive, but would friendly up with attention.  They are too trusting and friendly to put back out there, not wise like the cats who know how to survive.  They are orange and white, and have now been neutered, wormed and inoculated.  We are holding them for a few days to try to find a safer home for them.  We call them Moe and Joe.  They would do well in a country setting with a kitty door to the garage where they could enjoy a box with a blankie, good food, and peace.  They deserve more than they have been getting, and we would love to place them.  Please consider these two boys….they have good personalities….they just need time to adjust to a safe, clean, peaceful home…could it be yours?
