We are struggling to purchase cat food for our shelter. Unfortunately, we are having to use a portion of donations for this purpose. So, we got a good price for the food, and are diligently searching for coupons to help cut the cost. At this time you can call a phone number and ask for coupons to be sent to your home. You will receive 2 $1.00 coupons for Purina Complete for cats. When you receive the coupons, please pop them in the mail for SART at PO Box 146, St. Marys, Ohio. $1.00 off of each bag of food that we are having to purchase to feed our 325 cats and kittens will help us afford what we need to purchase. Thank you for supporting us by this little step – it will make a huge difference for us. The phone number is 1-888-228-2469. Please take a moment to make the call. It is very simple and each household can ask for these coupons. Ask your friends to help as well to help SART feed their residents. Remember, anything is everything!

God are you there?
Are you listening tonight?
A huge hole in my heart
It just doesn’t feel right
A dear friend came to be with you
Last Friday night
Deb Kimball, I’m sure You met her
Please tell me she is alright
I’m sure she is
Safe and secure in your arms
I know she is at peace with You
Away from this life, and all that harms
Fridays at the shelter
Will be different now for sure
Our conversations we had
So unique, so pure
My heart is broken
Pieces shattered on the floor
I know You accepted her God
When she showed up at your door
Please give her a quiet shade tree
A rainbow of colors so bright
She deserved this through life
And throughout her fight
Let her rest with our kitties
Our awesome Angel Crew
She will do what she should
Do all she can do
Wow, Deb
I can’t believe you’re not here
You lived this life
Lived without fear
Why am I struggling?
Struggling with words?
Because you are gone
There is no looking forward
Forward to our Fridays
How can I do it without you?
Us I will miss
But I will do it for you!
I am hurt, I am crying
I will miss you so much
All your giggling at the kitties
Especially at Gus!!
They are all still little brats
Just so you know
We go along with our day as you said
“Go along with the flow”
You have kitties in Heaven
To watch over You
You are so very special
To our awesome Angel Crew
Sit back with our kitties
Enjoy your own way
We will meet again
In our own special way
My heart skips a beat
When I think of you
But I am reassured
Because I know you’re with Our Angel Crew. . .

Our Angel Crew added a very special Angel to watch over them… an Angel for them to watch over. Deb, you hold a special beat in my heart. I hurt, the SART family hurts. We love you. We know a lot of people love you. I lost a part of Friday.
February 28th 2011
Still lives in our hearts
A day we could’ve never imagined
And a day that truly changed SARTA Flash Flood was upon us
The water came fast!
Looking at the situation
We were all aghastWe looked at the water
So muddy, so cold
But we had to save the kitties
Our moves needed to be bold! The water kept getting deeper
Too quickly it seemed
“How were we going to get through this,
With so many kitties on scene?”To our ankles, then our knees
The water now to our waist!
The kitties needed saved
We had to move in haste! Our worries seemed to diminish
With each kitty we saved
The kitties knew we were helping
And tried to behaveThat water was so cold
It froze us to the bone
But the kitties we wouldn’t leave
We would never leave them alone! We were blessed to have the help
Of a professional rescue crew
They helped us save the kitties!
Boated us all out safely too!Over 300 kitties
We did save on this day
We didn’t lose one!
They are all ok!Four hours in the water
Frozen to the core
Standing on the canal bank
Our lives had been changed forever moreWe looked at the water
In shock and disbelief
“How would we ever get through this?”
“Would we ever feel relief?”No matter how scared
No matter how cold
At that moment in time
“God took hold”He helped us through this
Stood beside us this day
It happened for a reason
For His reason and His wayThis family, He created
With goodness in His heart
He formed a special bond
Between the family members of SARTThat day was only a moment
The days to follow meant more
The people that cared
Showed up at our doorGiving, and giving more!
The people they came!
They knew the shelter needed help!
And would never be the same! The water it came
The water subsided
Gods strength we had
And God, He guidedWith all the devastation
We prayed and prayed
God answered our prayers
And helped see us through this dayHe sent us volunteers
To dedicate their time
He gave some the strength to help
From rise until shineHe gave some the ability to give money
And others to give food
Or others to give hugs
When we were in a sad moodThanks to ALL who helped
In every single way
It helped us and the kitties
Get through this dayOne year later, SART is strong
We have recovered for the most part
But its only because of you
And the way you became apartApart of the SART team
Giving everything you had
Whether it being a lot
Or only a tadAnything means everything
To us here at SART
Give a little or a lot
You are always apart!

This day was a day that can only be explained in an “if you were there…” scenario. For the SART team members that were there, well, this day is forever etched into their hearts. What happened after was an outpouring of love, support, donations, and understanding. Without ALL of you, SART would not have recovered from this tragic day. Please never forget what and how much you do for SART. Your support, your understanding and your love means everything! Anything means everything. We truly want to thank you for all you give! God Bless!

This is a very sincere thank you to those of you who have donated money towards the purchase of food, those of you who have dropped bags of the food we need at the shelter, and those of you who are praying and supporting us through this crisis. I would be remis if I did not take a moment to say thank you to each of you for thinking of us, taking action, and showing support of SART and all we are doing. So, THANK YOU!
We are plugging along. We are adopting consistantly, working hard to keep everyone happy and comfortable, and continuing our mission of caring for the homeless. If any of you know of someone who is interested in adopting, please contact me. We do have a special case right now. A 10 year old female, declawed and spayed cat desperately needs a new home. She is a very sweet, well mannered cat who loves to lay in the sunbeams and enjoy the warmth that it gives. She is sweet, loving, and kind. Her only issue is that she does not feel comfortable around small children. Her current home’s landlord is demanding that she leave, and we are trying. We have no room at the shelter so I am making this special plea for her. If you have 1 or 2 cats, would you consider taking her into your home so that she is safe and cared for? She is healthy, happy and sweet. She just needs to find a new family who will continue to care for her. If you are interested, please contact me through the contact page. Her picture is on our petfinder account. Her name is Moonbeam. She and I would both be very grateful if you would take her in! Please consider inviting her into your family.
