Kitten Medical Assistance Needed!
SART is very proud of the fact that out of our 350 felines at our facility, only 17 need to be fixed and other procedures we do at that time with our vet! Since we have had to purchase so much food this year our dollars have had to go there instead of having all of it go towards medical, which we prefer. We do not adopt until the kitty is fixed to ensure that it is done, so we have 17 waiting for a chance at their forever home until we get the dollars to do their vet visit.

H4TH 2012
Last year’s Iams Home 4 the Holidays pet adoption drive concluded on January 3 by proudly announcing that loving adoptive homes had been found for over 1.25 million orphaned animals. The 2011/2012 season brought together 4,000 animal organizations around the world for the shared goal of getting as many animals placed over the holidays as possible. Since its founding in 1999, Iams Home 4 the Holidays has successfully placed an increased number of orphaned animals and united even more animal organizations with every passing year. Yet, even with the program’s incredible growth, we aim for higher numbers and more involvement. We look forward to this 2012-2013 season of working together toward the loving placement of homeless pets and we will not stop until every orphaned animal is finally Home 4 the Holidays.
SART is very proud to be an involved shelter with H4TH 2012! We are very excited to help good, loving people find their companion to love and care for. Protecting Our Cats
Halloween is quickly approaching. Along with the fun of costumes and candy, corn mazes and dunking for apples, there is also the protection of our beautiful black cats. Black cats have been associated with Halloween for a very long time. Due to this connection, there are people who want to cause harm to these wonderful animals. SART does not want to be a part of such a horrible activity, so we put a moratorium on adoptions of black cats through the month of October.
If there is a black stray in your neighborhood, now is the time to rescue it, get it medically cared for and give it a safe place to be. We watch over the welfare of our cats and ask that you do your part to keep these precious animals safe.

Chase Community Giving Grant
A very kind supporter of SART nominated us to be included in this year’s Chase Community Giving Grant. There is a set amount of money available for the non profit organizations that are nominated. Once the voting period ends (September 19th!), the money is distributed based on the vote totals. The more votes, the more money the organization receives.

Support SART
SART received their quarterly contribution notice from Kroger this weekend. We will be receiving a check based on your support and the next quarter has already started. This is a great way to support SART and it is simple and free. If you would like to contribute to SART please go to the Kroger icon on our home page and register, not forgetting to insert SART as your organization of choice. It doesn’t cost you anything but Kroger will match and give 4% to SART. Can you imagine the financial support we would receive if 1000 households pointed to us? Since we are a nonprofit organization we rely on donations so this is a perfect way to contribute. If you haven’t done so yet, please take five minutes to register.
